“Essential Care Connection has been providing care for my mother since 2016 after she had a 3-month hospital and rehab stay from a life threatening fall. Thankfully, Mom has been able to stay in her own home with the assistance and care that has been provided by her caregiver. Cristy has been with Mom for about 1 1/2 years and has been reliable, competent and very caring in working with my mother. Cristy helps with Mom’s daily activities of personal care, exercise, meal prep, light housekeeping, laundry and companionship. “Olivar became my husband’s caregiver 3 months ago when my husband was discharged from San Pedro’s Acute Rehab Center after a stroke he suffered late last November. Olivar has the patience, temperament, and the skills in taking care of an elderly stroke patient who needs much help to get back on his feet and in daily self-care.
My husband, who is right-handed, requires many hours of physical and occupational therapies to help him deal with a non-functional right hand in his daily life. Olivar has the background training and is also a quick learner of the many exercises taught in weekly sessions to my husband by the PT/OT therapists. He is diligent in guiding my husband through 2-3 rounds of hour-long exercises. With his help, I was able to continue to perform most of my essential routines in daily life, both in and out of the house, while adjusting to taking on new responsibilities in the care of my husband.
Olivar was very reliable as a caregiver. He was punctual, observant, and always watchful of his patient. He has many years of experience in taking care of other elderlies prior.
My husband has recovered sufficiently that I feel ready for the challenge to take over. Thank you, Olivar, for your help and encouragement.

“I have had my caregiver Myrna for the 6 years I have been out of the hospital. She is so kind and caring and a very happy person to be around.
Has never taken a sick day and if my reliever is unable to come, she is always ready to fill in even over holidays like Christmas. She is a wonderful cook and helps me around my garden watering and taking care of my plants. She also grows a vegetable garden. It is hard to describe how many things she does for me but it is like living with my best friend. I have had a few relievers but right now I have Lulu who is also very good. I feel very lucky.”
